Sai Sudharsan stays on top but Gujarat Titans eliminated Mumbai Indians

IPL 2025 Orange and Purple Cap Update After GT vs MI IPL Eliminator Match: There were a couple of changes in the Orange Cap and the Purple Cap tables after the Eliminator match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans. Gujarat’s Sai Sudharsan maintained his grip on the leading run scorers’ tally while Mumbai’s Suryakumar Yadav took advantage of Shubman Gill’s failure to leapfrog over the GT captain and settle in the second position. In the Purple Cap race, Prasidh Krishna snapped up Rohit Sharma and Naman Dhir to take his wickets’ tally to 25 and go over Chennai’s Noor Ahmad.
In Friday’s Eliminator, Sudharsan starred with 80 runs while Washington Sundar chipped in with 48 but a disciplined Mumbai bowling lineup, courtesy of Jasprit Bumrah and Richard Gleeson sent both set batters back in the hut which ultimately snuffed out the Titans’ chances. In the first innings, Rohit Sharma slammed 81 while Jonny Bairstow chipped in with 47 as Mumbai posted 228/5. In reply, GT could manage 208/6, leading to their elimiantion.
On Thursday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru blew the Punjab Kings to pieces in Qualifier 1 of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) and thus booked a place for themselves in the final. RCB had a paltry target of 102 to chase and they got there on a canter with eight wickets and more than 10 overs to spare. Phil Salt scored a half-century while Virat Kohli and Mayank Agarwal were the two RCB batters who fell.
