Saif Ali Khan buys ‘holiday home’ in Qatar 3 months after stabbing incident, says ‘it’s very safe’ | Bollywood News

Saif Ali Khan is back to work three months after he was attacked inside his Bandra apartment an intruder. The actor is busy promoting his next film, Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal’s action thriller The Jewel Thief: The He Begins. He took time out from the promotions to attend a press event hosted the Alfardan Group, where he revealed that he has bought a property at The St Regis Marsa Arabia Island, The Pearl, in Doha, Qatar.
“Think of a holiday home or a second home. There are a few things I think of. One is that it’s not very far away and it’s easily accessible. And then the other thing is, the most important thing is that it’s very safe and it feels very good to be there,” said Saif. This comes three months after he was stabbed with a knife an intruder inside his 12th floor apartment in upscale the Bandra area on January 16.
“I had gone there to do some work, and I was shooting for something, and I stayed at the property, and I thought it was amazing, and there was something about the mixture of privacy and luxury that I really liked,” said Saif, adding, “The main thing really is that it’s peaceful and secluded if that’s the kind of thing you are looking for.”

The actor said he’s looking forward to visit the property with his family next, particularly his and wife Kareena Kapoor’s sons Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan. Besides the newly acquired Doha property, Saif also has homes in London and Gstaad. Back in India, besides the Bandra apartment, he often visits his ancestral property of Pataudi Palace in Haryana.

After his stabbing incident, Saif had underwent emergency surgery at a private hospital and was discharged five days later. On January 19, the police arrested Shariful Islam (30) from neighbouring Thane. The knife fragment that got lodged near the actor’s spine during the attack as well as a part found at the scene of crime have matched with the weapon recovered from the accused.
Earlier this month, the police filed a chargesheet in a Mumbai court. The chargesheet, filed the Bandra police, conss of evidence against the accused Bangldeshi national, Mohammad Shariful Islam. The police also said the offence was very “serious in nature” and “strong evidence” is available against the accused.
