Aziz Mirza urges fans to revisit Shah Rukh Khan’s Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani: ‘My son says that you should have made the film seriously…’ | Bollywood News

Released in 2000, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani was the first film produced under Dreamz Unlimited—the production company founded actors Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, and director Aziz Mirza. Although the film received mixed reviews upon release, it has gained popularity over the years. In a recent interview, Aziz reflected on the time he couldn’t afford to invest in the company and spoke about how Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’s themes remain relevant even today.
Talking about launching Dreamz Unlimited, Aziz shared, “We had decided to invest five lakhs each in Shah Rukh and Juhi’s production company Dreamz Unlimited.” However, Aziz didn’t have the required money and no one asked him. “I didn’t even have five lakhs, I didn’t invest that much. No one even asked me. I invested five lakhs at the end. I am being very honest,” he revealed.

You see the little things – vo dange khud karvaata hai aur phir hawan mein baithta hai dange band karvaane ke liye. Dange kisi aur cheez par the, he shifted it to Hindu-Muslim so that dhyaan idhar se hattjaaye. All these things were done,” he said.
The filmmaker added, “I wish people see that film again. My son says that you should have made the film seriously and not a satire, then people might have understood. I made it the way I saw it.”
