Salman Khan breaks silence on death threats from Lawrence Bishnoi: ‘Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai’ | Bollywood News

Ahead of the release of his long-awaited film Sikandar, Salman Khan caught up with members of the media on Wednesday and addressed the death threats coming his way. The actor has been receiving threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi for years now, forcing him to beef up his security.
“Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai. Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi hai. Kabhi kabhi itne logon ko saath mein leke chalna padta hai, bas wohi problem ho jaati hai. (God, Allah, everything depends on Him. It’s predetermined how long I’ll live. That’s it. Sometimes, I have to be escorted so many security officials, that causes a problem),” Salman said.
While Lawrence Bishnoi himself is lodged in Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati jail in cases including attempted murder and extortion, suspected members of his gang opened fire outside the actor’s Bandra home in April last year. Weeks after that, Navi Mumbai Police claimed to have uncovered a plot the Bishnoi gang to kill Khan while on his way to his farmhouse at Panvel near Mumbai.

In October, a man sent a threat message on the traffic police’s WhatsApp helpline number, threatening to kill Salman and Maharashtra NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique if they failed to pay up Rs 2 crore. The person in the message warned the two will meet the same fate as former state miner Baba Siddique, father of Zeeshan Siddique, and his warning should not be treated as a joke. Baba Siddique was shot dead three gunmen in the Bandra area on October 12.
In November, Salman received a fresh threat along with a demand of Rs 5 crore from a person claiming to brother of Lawrence Bishnoi. The threat message also asked Salman to apologise apparently over an alleged blackbuck poaching incident. “If Salman Khan wants to stay alive, he should go to our (Bishnoi community) temple and apologise or pay Rs 5 crore. If he does not do so, we will kill him; our gang is still active,” the message said.
