Taking to Twitter, Khan wrote, “When u met me last u had promised me u will win again and u have done that. So proud of u Nikhat.”
The 57-year-old also extended his congratulations to the entire team and he wrote “Many congratulations to you all on winning the women’s world boxing championships.”
Ace Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen added a second World Championships title to her name, defeating Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Tam in the 50kg summit clash. Nikhat upstaged the two-time Asian champion Tam a 5-0 verdict to take the light flyweight title in front of a packed home crowd at the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall.

Earlier, Nikhat, who is a self proclaimed Salman Khan fan, got a chance to meet him and had shared a post on Twitter where they were seen recreating the famous “Saathiya Tune Kya Kiya” song from Salman-Revathi starrer Love.
After she had won her Women’s World Boxing Championships in the flyweight (52 kg) category in May, she had said on her fandom of Salman, “Very big fan. Fan kya, AC samjho. I believe he hasn’t married yet, because he’s waiting for me.”
With the win on Sunday, Nikhat becomes only the second Indian after the legendary MC Mary Kom to win the title of the prestigious tournament twice.

On Saturday, Nitu Ghanghas, and Saweety Boora and Lovlina Borgohain were crowned world champions in their respective weight categories.
