Salman Khan reacts to nepotism debate in Bollywood: ‘Kabhi Kangana Ranaut ki beti aayengi, unko bhi…’ | Bollywood News

Actor Salman Khan is currently busy promoting his upcoming film, Sikandar. As part of the promotions, Salman interacted with journals at a Mumbai hotel on Thursday. During the conversation, the superstar addressed the nepotism debate in Bollywood. He also spoke about how no one is truly self-made and acknowledged his father Salim Khan’s role in shaping his career.
During the interaction, a journal asked Salman about Raveena Tandon’s daughter, Rasha Thadani, making her Bollywood debut. However, Salman misheard Raveena as Kangana and was visibly shocked. “Kangana ki beti aa rahi hai? (Kangana’s daughter is coming?)” he asked. As journals clarified the confusion, Salman quickly responded, “Ab Kangana ki beti aayengi, to films karengi ya politics join karengi? To unko bhi… (If Kangana’s daughter comes, will she do films or join politics?)” When reporters brought up nepotism, Salman replied, “Yeah, she or he will have to do something else.”

Salman Khan further stated that no one can truly be self-made. He said, “Nobody in this world is self-made. I don’t believe in that. It’s all teamwork. Had my father not come to Mumbai from Indore, I would have been farming there. It was his decision that (paved the way for me). He came here, worked in films. Now, I am his son. I could either go back or continue here (in Mumbai). People bring new terms for all this, like that thing all of you use a lot – nepotism. I love it.”
Towards the end of the conversation, Salman Khan urged audiences to visit theatres to watch his film Sikandar as well as other releases this week. “I am hoping people working get good bonuses on Eid so that they can watch Sikandar, Mohanlal sir’s L2: Empuraan, and also Sunny Deol’s new film (Jaat). Three big stars are coming with big films and I hope all work,” he concluded.
Sikandar also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Kishore, Jatin Sarna, and Anjini Dhawan in pivotal roles. Directed AR Murugadoss, the film is set to hit the theatres a day before Eid, on March 30.
