Salman Khan-starrer walloped Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava in first two days, earns Rs 55 crore

Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 2: Salman Khan-starrer Sikandar was released on Sunday, and had a disappointing opening at the box office. On the second day of its release, which happened to be Eid, the film’s collections saw a slight uptick, as it made Rs 29 crore according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This takes the film’s nett collection to Rs 55 crore in India. Sikandar’s collections are better than Salman’s 2024 release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which made around Rs 39 crore in its first two days, but when compared to the star’s earlier hits, these numbers are surely a cause of concern.
On day two, Sikandar observed an occupancy of around 24.6 percent across the country. In the Delhi-NCR region, the film had over 1800 shows, and witnessed an occupancy of around 27 percent, and in the Mumbai region, the film had over 1350 shows, and saw an occupancy of round 28 percent.
Last year, Salman was also seen in YRF’s Tiger 3, which was also released on a Sunday. In the first two days, Tiger 3 made a little over Rs 104 crore, and while the numbers sound impressive independently, they were seen as disappointing in comparison to films like Pathaan, Jawan and Gadar 2, which had a much stronger opening at the box office in the months prior to Tiger 3’s release. It was later said that the decision to release Tiger 3 on a Sunday was a make, as the makers failed to capitalise on the extended holiday weekend.

Salman’s last theatrical release, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, made around Rs 111 crore at the box office, and was seen as a huge failure for him. Later that year, Tiger 3 made around Rs 283 crore at the box office in India. The Hindi landscape in 2025 has solely dominated Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which has already made Rs 592.3 crore at the domestic box office since its release on February 14. Chhaava made Rs 68 crore in the first two days, even though it wasn’t a holiday release.
It is yet to be seen if Sikandar can manage to stay afloat across the week as the holiday weekend is now over. The film has received mediocre reviews, so it is unlikely that the film will pick up with word of mouth. Directed AR Murugadoss, Sikandar also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Sharman Joshi, among others.
