Following the episode, multiple FIRs were filed against those who appeared in various episodes of the show. He recorded his statement upon his return and his stand-up shows in India were cancelled after the controversy.
The controversy erupted after Ranveer asked a participant on the show whether he would rather watch his parents have sex every day for the rest of his life or join in once and stop it forever. This comment led to a furore on social media. Ranveer later said, “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny.”
