Serial record breaker Gulveer smashes 10,000 m national record 14.66 whole seconds

Gulveer Singh who has set the early Track & Field Indian season on fire notched up his third record in the 10,000m improving his own previous mark a stupendous 14 seconds at JSerra Catholic High School track of San Juan Caprano.
The Ten is a World Athletics Continental Tour silver grade meet.
Clocking 27:00.22 at The Ten meet in USA where he finished sixth, Gulveer notched Asia’s third all time best timing in Asia, though Ishmael Kipkurui has a breathtaking home stretch winning gold with a 26:50.20 for an NCAA record.

The tall Gulveer, from Aligarh, is 26 years old, and a Naib Subedar in the Indian Army. He had first set the 5000m Asian record with a 12:58.77 at Boston University becoming the first Asian to go under 13 minutes on the short track. His outdoor 5000m NR is at 13:11.82.
Gulveer’s 10000m NR was on 27:14.88 that he had set at Hachioji Long Dance, Japan in 2024 and he came pretty close to dipping under 27, as the race pace sped up.
The bronze medall at Asian Games in 2022, holds the national marks in 5000m, 10000m outdoors, plus indoor over 3000m and 5000m.
However, Gulveer missed automatic qualification for the World Championship in August 0.22 seconds. He was well ahead of the Asian Championships qualification standard of 29:33.26, and should make it to Gumi, Korean.Story continues below this ad
Gulveer is now third behind Qatar’s Ahmad Hassan Abdullah (Kenya born) and Nicholas Kemboi (also Kenya born) in Asia.
