At the recent 71st National Film Awards which took place in Delhi, both Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji won the prestigious honour for the first time. Shah Rukh won Best Actor for Jawan, while Rani won Best Actress for Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway. More than the award ceremony, fans were excited to see this hit on-screen couple together. Shah Rukh and Rani, were also joined actor Vikrant Massey, who shared the Best Actor award at the 71st National Awards with SRK. Vikrant won the titled for his role in the Vidhu Vinod Chopra directorial 12th Fail. While the actors looks bit nervous before getting this prestigious award, they were captured in a candid moment where they were seen prepping to make it to the stage.
During the event, Shah Rukh appeared to be taking extra care of Rani. SRK was not only seen holding her saree pallu so it wouldn’t get caught, he was also seen helping her in fixing her hair before they made it to the stage to received the award.

Shah Rukh also even gave her a light kiss on the cheek, and these gestures caught fans’ attention.

Reacting to a clip of Shah Rukh and Rani, before the stage, a fan praised Shah Rukh as a “gentleman,” and the clip has also evoked nostalgia with references to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. In another clip, after receiving his first-ever National Film Award for Best Actor, Shah Rukh Khan was seen trying to put on his medal, but was struggling. The video of SRK’s efforts has since gone viral. Rani Mukerji and Vikrant Massey came to SRK’s rescue to help him detangle his medal and wear it, which left a smile on everyone’s face.

Other winners who received the National Awards included Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail, which took home the Best Feature Film Award, while comedy Kathal – A Jackfruit Mystery was named Best Hindi Film. Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was awarded in the Best Wholesome Entertainment category.
