Shah Rukh Khan set to perform in the opening ceremony of second season of WPL | Cricket News

Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is all set to perform at the opening ceremony of the upcoming Women’s Premier League, which is set to start from Friday with a clash between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Khan is the owner of the Indian Premier League franchise club Kolkata Knight Riders which does not have a WPL team.
After the MI vs DC blockbuster clash, the second match will be between Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on the UP Warriorz at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. While the first 11 matches are in the same venue for the second half of the season including the playoffs the action shifts to Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
With the top-ranked side at the end of the 20 league stage games getting a pass through to the final, the Eliminator will be played between the second and third placed side to decide the second final on March 15, followed the summit clash on March 17.

The first-season of the WPL was hosted in Mumbai, with all of the games either played at the DY Patil Stadium or the Brabourne Stadium.
The conclusion at the Brabourne Stadium would see the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians beat Meg Lanning’s Delhi Capitals seven wickets.
Down in the points table, UP Warriorz, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants occupied the third, fourth and the fifth spot respectively.
