Shahid Kapoor hones his batting skills as he starts the prep for Jersey

After playing a medical surgeon in Kabir Singh, actor Shahid Kapoor is all set to shine in the avatar of a cricketer in his next film Jersey, which is a Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster. The actor was seen practising his battling skills in order to get in the character of the film. He will be seen in the role of an ex-cricketer who is trying his purpose in life.

In the pictures that have surfaced online, the actor can be seen donning a sporty look as he practices for the film. Take a look:

The original version of the film stars Nani and debutant Shraddha Srinath in the lead roles while Harish Kalyan, Sanusha, Sathyaraj, Sampath Raj, and Viswant played key roles.

Earlier this month Shahid had a shared a picture from his practice session on his Instagram account and wrote, “#jersey the prep begins.”

The actor opened up on his reason to pick this film in interaction with PTI and said, “It took me some time to decide what to do next after ‘Kabir Singh’. But the minute I saw ‘Jersey’. I knew I wanted it to be my next. It is a wonderful, inspiring and personal human journey that I connected with deeply”

The Hindi version of the time will be helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who directed the original film too and will be produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill and Dil Raju. It is slated to release on August 28, 2020.

The fans of the Haider actor are excited to see him in the role after his striking performance in Kabir Singh. The film, which is panned by the critics and was termed as regressive and misogynistic became one of the most successful films of the year 2019. It was an official remake of another Telugu blockbuster, Arjun Reddy.
