Shalini Passi says she only eats raw food, ghee, ayurvedic spices; prays for 2 hours and dances for one: ‘I don’t eat dal-chawal’ | Bollywood News

Shalini Passi’s appearance in the third season of The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives gave her a strong fan following. While this was a reality show, and her inclusion as a somewhat quirky character attracted the audience, since then, Shalini has emerged as a lifestyle influencer as many people look up to her for diet and fitness tips. In a recent chat, Shalini shared that she follows an ayurvedic diet and only eats raw vegetables during the day. She also said that she does not eat staple north Indian foods like daal-chawal.
In a chat with BBC Asian Network, Shalini said, “My friends would tell me that being in the media is a lot, you will not be able to handle it. They would say don’t say anything, don’t have your soups, don’t have your juices.” She shared that she decided to be truthful to who she was and not be pretentious on camera. “I said I am not going to lie and say I am having daal-chawal. I don’t eat daal-chawal,” she said and spoke about her diet.

“My diet is ayurvedic. I have raw foods till 6 o’clock, which is in our culture. I have around 10-12 kind of vegetables which I consume during the day, also including ghee and all the ayurvedic spices and powders. I think my lifestyle is for me to be healthy and for me to be functional,” she said and added that she feels bad for those who consume a lot of sugar, carbohydrates, smoke, drink and don’t have a healthy lifestyle. She shared that she hasn’t seen the show yet because she is conscious about how she looks, and feels that she appears bigger on camera.
When asked what she does, Shalini explained that she runs an art foundation and spoke a bit about her schedule during the day. “I pray almost 1.5-2 hours a day. I work out. I dance for an hour, and then pilates for an hour, every day,” she shared and added, “I have a schedule like a child. My life is very regimented, every minute to minute.”
