Shall soon enter politics in Andhra Pradesh to serve the people: Ambati Rayudu
Ambati Rayudu who retired from the Indian Premier League after helping Chennai Super Kings to its fifth title, said on Thursday that he wants to join politics.
“I shall soon enter politics in Andhra Pradesh to serve the people. Before that, I have decided to visit different parts of the drict to know the people’s pulse & understand their problems,” the 37-yea-old said as quoted IANS.
A few weeks earlier, Rayudu had called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Miner Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy at his office.
While the right-handed batsman is keeping everyone guessing, his meeting with Reddy had set rumour mills buzzing that he might join the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). The attacking batsman had recently written a series of tweets supporting Reddy.
Former Team India captain and popular former cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin of the Congress is learnt to be backing Rayudu to be nominated the Congress party in one of the urban constituencies around Hyderabad and expressed confidence that Rayudu would win.
