ICC reveals record WTC final prize money pool, here’s how much India will earn for 2023-25 cycle | Cricket News

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday revealed a substantial increase and a record prize money awaiting the winners of the 2023-25 World Test Championship final between Australia and South Africa next month.
The ICC revealed that the total prize pool for the WTC 2023-25 Final stands at a whopping USD 5.76 million (Rs 49.27 crore), more than double that of the previous two editions.
The summit clash of the third cycle will be played at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground from June 11-15.

“The champions will walk away with USD 3.6 million, a significant jump from the USD 1.6 million awarded in both 2021 and 2023 while the runners-up will earn USD 2.16 million, up from USD 800,000,” an ICC statement revealed.
South Africa topped the WTC25 standings and became the first team to secure a spot in the final after series wins over Pakan, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, along with a drawn home series against India.
Meanwhile, Australia secured qualification after toppling India 3-1 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year.
Finishing third in the standings this edition, two time runners-up India will pocket the third-largest prize money out of the finals at USD 1.44 million (Rs 12.31 crore).Story continues below this ad
Speaking on the announcement, ICC chairman Jay Shah said: “We have witnessed a very interesting third cycle of the ICC World Test Championship, where the finals were decided only towards the end of the competition.
“The championship has showcased remarkable performances from players of different teams, culminating in a final between these two exceptional squads – a true celebration of cricket. I am sure spectators at Lord’s, along with fans tuning in from all over the world, will be treated to some top-class cricket in this revered format when Australia and South Africa take the field less than a month from now.
