Sikandar box office collection day 1 early estimate: Salman Khan’s film crosses Rs 20 cr mark amid online leak | Bollywood News

Sikandar box office collection day 1 early estimate: Salman Khan’s much-awaited film, Sikandar, released in theatres on Sunday, a day before Eid 2025. The film, however, faced a setback right after its release as it fell prey to online piracy. This hasn’t stopped fans from flocking to theatres to watch Salman back in action after a gap of two years. According to early estimates industry tracker Sacnilk, the film minted Rs 21.96 crore India net on its first day for all languages. This data includes advance booking till 9 pm.
Sikandar had an overall 20.95 percent Hindi occupancy. It saw 25 percent occupancy during evening shows. The film is expected to see an increase in ticket sales as the day progresses. It had over 8,000 shows in Hindi across India. The Salman film faces pressure to surpass the opening day collection of his previous film, Tiger 3, which had minted Rs 44.5 crore on its first day. However, the overall performance of Tiger 3 was disappointing for a Salman Khan-starrer, as it minted Rs 464 crore worldwide against a reported budget of Rs 300 crore.
It is also worth noting that Salman Khan is yet to deliver a Rs 500 crore blockbuster in terms of domestic collection. While Shah Rukh Khan delivered Pathaan (Rs 543.09 crore) and Jawan (Rs 640.25 crore), Sunny Deol had Gadar 2 (Rs 525.7 crore). Ranbir Kapoor had Animal (Rs 553.87 crore), and Vicky Kaushal had Chhaava (Rs 590.3 crore). Salman’s highest-grossing film remains Tiger Zinda Hai, which collected Rs 339.16 crore in India. “Salman has to deliver the numbers. The pressure is there. Rs 100 aur 200 crores se kaam nahin chalega (It isn’t enough to deliver Rs 100 or Rs 200 crore),” trade analyst Taran Adarsh told Bollywood Hungama.

It also doesn’t help that Sikandar is competing with Mohanlal’s Malayalam film L2: Empuraan, which has collected Rs 57.59 crore within four days of its release.
Salman Khan’s recent box office record hasn’t been strong. Before Tiger 3’s lukewarm performance, Salman had delivered films like Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which minted Rs 184.6 crore worldwide, failing to even cross the Rs 200 crore mark. His previous films, Antim (2021) and Radhe (2021), were also box office failures. Radhe raked in Rs 18.33 crore globally, while Antim managed Rs 58.5 crore.
