Sikandar box office collection day 5: Continuing its disastrous downfall, director AR Murugadoss’ action drama Sikandar, starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles, recorded a domestic daily earning of less than Rs 6 crore on Thursday, making it one of Salman’s lowest single-day collections in recent times. Among his last five theatrical releases, the only films to have recorded first Thursday figures lower than Sikandar were Farhad Samji’s colossal disaster Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (2023) and Mahesh Manjrekar’s pandemic-era release Antim: The Final Truth (2021).
On Thursday, Sikandar regered an India nett collection of just Rs 5.75 crore, according to early estimates industry tracker Sacnilk, marking a 41.03 per cent dip in its daily earnings compared to the film’s Wednesday figures. However, this has finally helped the Salman Khan-starrer reach the Rs 90 crore mark at the domestic box office and push past the Rs 140 crore point worldwide, taking its global gross to Rs 140.25 crore. The movie’s producer, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, however, has claimed that Sikandar’s worldwide collection has reached Rs 158.5 crore in four days.

During the day, Sikandar witnessed a deplorable overall occupancy of just 8.24 per cent in the Hindi market. While the morning shows commenced with a miserable 4.74 per cent occupancy, the rate improved only marginally as the day progressed, with the afternoon shows recording 8.17 per cent, the evening shows seeing 9.35 per cent and the night screenings regering just 10.68 per cent.
Among his last five theatrical releases, Sikandar has one of the lowest first Thursday collections. While Tiger 3 (2023) earned Rs 22.25 crore domestically, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan minted Rs 3.5 crore, Antim Rs 2.1 crore, Dabangg 3 (2019) Rs 7 crore, and Bharat (2019) Rs 31 crore. Meanwhile, as Sikandar continues its downward spiral, many theatres have already replaced the movie and the Salman Khan-starrer lost 1,100 shows in the three days since its release.

Meanwhile, claiming that the movie has been facing “paid negative reviews,” Salman Khan’s fans have stepped up to raise their voices against such practices and in favour of Sikandar. A Salman Khan fan club claimed that the negativity is artificially created.
“It remains to be seen whether this campaign is driven someone in the industry, or just an aggressive push rival fan groups. But something like this has the power to wipe off a film. It happened during Tubelight (2017). You can’t combat these posts because there is most likely an agency hired and it is multiplying bots every hour. Many posts claimed that shows are cancelled, but if you check at Gaiety Galaxy, the shows are sold out,” they said.
