Sikandar Box Office Collection Prediction Day 1: Salman Khan film

Sikandar Box Office Collection Prediction Day 1: Salman Khan is all set to return to the big screen for the first time since his 2023 film Tiger 3. Like that film, his latest offering, Sikandar, will be released across India on a Sunday. While this strategy didn’t quite work out for Tiger 3, which ultimately under-performed at the box office, Salman is confident about Sikandar. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has sold about 2.2 lakh tickets already, and this is just for the Hindi version. This translates to around Rs 6.46 crore. Including blocked seats, which is otherwise known as self-buying, the film has earned about Rs 13.53 crore. Sikandar has over 8,000 shows in Hindi across India.
Current projections put the film’s opening day haul at Rs 28 crore. This is about Rs 18 crore less than the opening day collections of Tiger 3. But, it’s better than the opening day collections of his film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which under-performed as well. In fact, Salman hasn’t had a clean hit in theatres since 2017’s Tiger Zinda Hai. The actor desperately needs a win, especially after having braved years’ worth of negative comments about his stardom, and its perceived decline.

Salman is synonymous with the Eid festival, and his fans turn out in droves to catch his movies on the big screen. And although he can guarantee decent openings, it’s the quality of the movie itself that will define its future. And in recent years, his fans have been disappointed his creative output. Salman is also a fixture on television; he hosts the reality show Bigg Boss. Many have attributed his declining box office returns to some form of over-exposure on television. Unlike Salman, his co-star Rashmika Mandanna has been on a dream box office run. Her last three films were Animal, Pushpa 2: The Rule, and Chhaava. Combined, the three movies have made over Rs 3,400 crore worldwide.
Sikandar, directed Ghajini’s AR Murugadoss, also features Kajal Aggarwal, Sathya Raj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar. Salman is putting together follow-ups to his hit films Kick, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He is also expected to reprise his role as Tiger in future installments of the spy franchise.
