Singer Zubeen Garg dies in Singapore at 52 in scuba diving accident | Bollywood News

Popular singer Zubeen Garg passed away on Friday after a tragic scuba diving accident in Singapore. As per reports, he fell into the sea while diving on Friday. He was rescued and rushed to the hospital. But, he succumbed to his injuries.
Zubeen was in Singapore to participate in the 4th North East India Festival. He shared a video on Instagram where he said, “Friends in Singpore, I will like to invite you to 4th North East India Festival in Sunctec, Singapore during 20th and 21st September. Come and explore the exotic part of India, we are carrying quality agri, craft products, tea experience, dance forms, fashion shows and evening musical show presenting Rock bands, rappers from India’s North East. I will be there throughout the Festival as Cultural Brand Ambassador and will perform on 20th evening with my popular Hindi, Bengali and Assamese Songs. I would like to invite you all, it will be Saturday and Sunday and entry is free. All come and support us. Cheers!”

Assam Chief Miner Himanta Biswa Sarma condoled Zubin’s death on X, “Today Assam lost one of its favourite sons. I am in a loss of words to describe what Zubeen meant for Assam. He has gone too early, this was not an age to go. Zubeen’s voice had an unmatched ability to energise people and his music spoke directly to our minds and souls. He has left a void that will never be filled. Our future generations will remember him as a stalwart of Assam’s culture, and his works will inspire many more talented arts in the days and years to come.”
Zubeen was a force to reckon with and had 2.1 million monthly leners on Spotify alone. One of his most famous tracks was ‘Ya Ali’ from the film Gangster. The album had been composed Pritam, and the film featured stars like Emraan Hashmi, Shiney Ahuja, Gulshan Grover, and Kangana Ranaut, who made her debut with the film. Zubeen’s other notable tracks include ‘Bhobai Nasilu’, ‘Runjun’, and ‘Agoli Anubhabe’, all with over a million streams on streaming platforms.
The Assamese singer made his musical debut with the soundtrack of ‘Jouboni Amoni Kore’ in 1998. Apart from singing pop numbers in Bengali and Assamese, Zubeen also performed multiple devotional songs for the Durga Puja festival, with his own tw. His last single was the English version of his song Maya, which he released alongside Bhargav Ojapali. Over his storied career, he has recorded over 38,000 songs in more than 40 languages including Assamese, Bengali, and Hindi.
