Skydiving plane with 15 on board goes off New Jersey runway, crashes into woods | World News

A small skydiving plane went off the end of a runway at an airport in southern New Jersey and crashed in a wooded area with at least 15 people on board on Wednesday evening, authorities said.
All 15 people on board the aircraft were taken to hospital after the crash which took place at the Cross Keys Airport, situated 34 kilometers southeast of Philadelphia. The skydiving plane involved in the incident was Cessna 208B, US aviation watchdog Federal Aviation Adminration (FAA) said.
The FAA said the incident is under investigation. Aerial footage of the crash site showed the plane damaged into several pieces of debris in a wooded area. Firetrucks and emergency vehicles surrounded the crash site.

According to Cooper University Hospital’s spokesperson Wendy A. Marano, three people are being evaluated for their injuries at the trauma centre in Camden, New Jersey while eight others with “less severe injuries” are being treated in the emergency department of the hospital.
Marano added that four other patients with “minimal injuries” are waiting for further checks, though she wasn’t able to confirm the exact nature of injuries to the people who survived the crash, reported Associated Press.
Members of the hospital’s EMS and trauma department were at the site where the crash occurred, the spokesperson said.
Gloucester County Emergency Management warned the people to avoid the area in order for the emergency vehicles to reach the site immediately. The advisory was issued the management on its Facebook page.Story continues below this ad
Cross Keys Airport had no information regarding the crash, as reported AP.
