South Africa captain Temba Bavuma admits using the word ‘choke’ multiple times in team meeting | Cricket-world-cup News

It has been quite a rollercoaster week for South Africa captain Temba Bavuma. He missed the warm-ups and returned home due to family reasons. He returned to India on Wednesday morning just hours before the captain’s dinner in Ahmedabad. A drowsy Bavuma became a meme during the captain’s press conference. However, he later clarified that he was not sleeping and blamed the poor camera angle.
Bavuma was at his best while facing Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Gerald Coetzee, Andile Phehlukwayo, Lizaad Williams and Marco Jansen. He was equally good against the spinners. Most Read

Just like his batting in the nets, the South African captain was hitting all the queries with the straight bat. He spoke about the “chokers” tag and admitted that he has used the word multiple times in the team meetings and says it will stay with his team until they win a silverware.
“I have used that a couple of times. But you don’t really hear coming from the team,” he told reporters.

“The belief that happens among the players is important. I bring it up to just make sure that we are not kind of squirting around the issue. If there is some issue, you will have to deal with it and mentally make sure how you’re gonna deal with it. But again, it is just that acceptance that it will always be within the team, within the group, the guys who will have to come don’t experience that. This is something that will just ex as long as we do what we need to do,” he said.
