SRH vs MI tip-off XI: Arjun Tendulkar to play, Jansen twins to face each other, Rohit to play as ‘Impact Player’
IPL 2023: Aiden Markram-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday.
After a sluggish start, losing their opening two games, both sides have won two on the bounce. Aiden Markram’s return as captain has boosted SRH’s confidence. The form Harry Brook, who scored a match-winning century in the last match, has injected firepower in their batting line-up. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav’s return to form must be a sigh of relief for the Mumbai team management.
Here are the tip-offs for the match
Arjun Tendulkar to play
Arjun Tendulkar, who finally made his IPL debut two days ago, will likely hold his place in the playing XI. The left-arm seamer was used for only two overs but the bowler is set to get another match for the franchise he has supported since the inception of the IPL in 2022. Sachin and Arjun became the first father-son duo to play in the IPL.
Jansen twins up against each other
Duan Jansen, who also made his IPL debut alongside Arjun Tendulkar against KKR, will now be up against his twin brother Marco Jansen, who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad. It will only be the second time when the Jansen twins will go against each other in professional cricket.
Rohit to be the impact player
Mumbai Indians skipper, who came as an Impact player, might don the role again in today’s encounter against SRH. In his absence, Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team. Rohit, also the India captain, has stressed on the need for national team players to look after their bodies during the two-month-long league, and he himself is likely to take a break from a few games during the IPL season. Playing as an Impact player might be a way to assess his workload management.
