State’s players added to state’s glory globally

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that efforts are being made to upgrade sports in Madhya Pradesh. The players of the state have increased the glory of the state in national and international competitions as well as in the Olympics. The country is progressing continuously under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Boats for canoeing, stand-up paddling etc. will also be manufactured in the country soon in the resolve for Atmanirbhar Bharat and Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Minister Chouhan, was addressing the launch programme of the 32nd National Canoe Sprint, 15th Para Canoe, 1st Standup Paddling National Competition 2021-22 at Lower Lake, Bhopal organized in the memory of Late Sanjeev Kumar Singh. Chief Minister Chouhan inaugurated the national competition by releasing balloons amidst fireworks and melodious tunes played by the police band. Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia, Director General of Police Sudhir Kumar Saxena, Director General of Police Home Guard Shri Pawan Jain, Former Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri, Jyoti Singh, along with players of national and international competitions were present.

Row march and presentation of various boats participating in the competition was held in front of Chouhan. Cap and mementoes of the event were presented to Chouhan. International player Namita Chandel administered the oath to the players. 750 players from 27 states are participating in this competition, which will continue till March 13. There will be competitions for a total of 285 medals through which there will be a process of selection of the national team, which will participate in the Beijing Asian Games. Kayaking Canoeing is an Olympic sport and Bhopal has an important place in this sport in the country.

Chouhan paid tribute to IPS Late Sanjeev Kumar Singh. He said that Singh will always remain in our memories. Chouhan said that sports is an important part of our life and it is also necessary to have sportsmanship in life.

Sports Minister Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia said that under the leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, sports activities are expanding in the state and the performance and capacity of sports talent is constantly being upgraded. Players of the state have recorded achievements in various sports at national and international level. In the Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh, work will also be done in the field of manufacturing of sports goods. Director General of Police Home Guard Shri Pawan Jain also addressed on the occasion.
