Stree 2’s Amar Kaushik ‘scared’ of Shraddha Kapoor’s fans as he apologises to her for his ‘chudail’ remark | Bollywood News
Stree 2 director and writer Amar Kaushik irked Shraddha Kapoor’s fans after he compared the actor’s laugh to that of a witch. While many on social media predicted a rift between the director-actor duo, they shut those rumours down as they appeared together at a party organised Maddock Films, the production house behind the Stree franchise. However, while posing for the paparazzi, Shraddha couldn’t help but poke fun at Amar for his remarks.
At the party, Shraddha was dressed in her casual best, wearing a white T-shirt with a pair of blue jeans. As she posed with Amar for the photographers, she took his case and said, “Aaj kal yeh bahut jokes mar rahe hain (These days he is joking a lot). This prompted Amar to jokingly hold his ears as an apologetic gesture towards Shraddha for his remarks. Amar’s reaction had both of them laughing. He said, “Mujhe darr lag raha hai. Sabse zyada aapke fans se darr lag raha hai (I am feeling scared, I am most scared of your fans).”
Earlier, in an interview with Komal Nahta, Amar credited producer Dinesh Vijan for Shraddha’s casting in Stree and said, “Unhone bola, Amar woh jab hasti hai na toh ekdum Stree ki tarah, ekdum chudail ki tarah hasti hai, sorry Shraddha. So, aisa kuch bola tha unhone. Chudail bola tha ya kuch aur, I am not sure. Toh main jab unhe mila toh sabse pehle maine unko bola haso (So, he told me Amar she laughs like a Stree. She laughs like a witch, sorry Shraddha. So, he said something like that. I don’t remember he said witch or something else. I am not sure. So, when I met Shraddha, the first thing I told her was to laugh).”
The aftermath of Stree 2 was marred a credit war between the film’s star cast—Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor—over who was responsible for the film’s massive success, the film minted Rs 857.15 crore worldwide. The credit war was orchestrated the actors’ PR teams and their fan clubs, with Shraddha’s fan clubs dominating the narrative on social media. The actor has 94.2M followers on Instagram; Rajkummar, on the other hand, has 8.1M followers. These same fan clubs also targeted Amar Kaushik for his comment on Shraddha.
