Sunjay Kapur’s last words before succumbing to heart attack were ‘I have swallowed something’: report | Bollywood News

Actor Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, died on Thursday after suffering a heart attack. It was reported that he was playing polo in the United Kingdom when he swallowed an insect, which caused him to go into cardiac arrest. He was 53. Later, it was reported that the industrial swallowed a bee. The Telegraph cited witnesses as saying that Kapur’s final words were, “I have swallowed something.”
Previously, Sunjay’s friend and business associate, Suhel Seth, told news agency ANI, “Sunjay died of a heart attack, apparently after swallowing a bee during a polo match in England.” According to The Telegraph, Sunjay’s polo team was playing Sujan Indian Tigers in the subsidiary final of the Queen’s Cup when he fell ill. A friend told the publication, “Sunjay will be greatly missed not only his family and friends but the local community around his club as he employed so many people and made so many friends–he was fun, kind and generous.”

According to Forbes, Sunjay has an estimated net worth of $1.2 billion (Rs 10,300 crore). Kapur was the director and non-executive chairman of Sona Comstar, a auto components company, founded his father Surinder Kapur in 1995. Sunjay Kapur the knot with Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor in 2003. The couple share a son and a daughter. In 2014, they decided to get separated with their divorce being finalised in 2016. In 2017, the industrial tied the knot for the third time, with Priya Sachdev. He adopted her daughter from a previous marriage, and the two had a son together.
Sunjay’s funeral is scheduled to take place in New Delhi. However, according to NDTV, the process might be delayed due to legal formalities as he was a US citizen. The 53-year-old industrial’s father-in-law Ashok Sachdev told the publication, “The postmortem is currently underway. Once the paperwork is complete, the body will be brought to India for the last rites.”
