Sushila Karki announced as new PM of Nepal | World News

While Sushila Karki lacks political and executive experience, it’s this anti-graft reputation that has prompted Nepal’s Gen Z protesters to put forward her name as interim prime miner. (X/@airnewsalerts)
Former chief justice Sushila Karki will be sworn in as Nepal’s interim prime miner at 8:45 pm local time on Wednesday, president’s office confirmed. The announcement marks a dramatic breakthrough after days of violent Gen Z–led protests that forced the collapse of KP Sharma Oli’s government.
The agreement was reached following marathon negotiations between protest leaders, the Nepalese Army, and President Ram Chandra Poudel. As part of the deal, Parliament will be dissolved and Karki — a widely respected former head of the judiciary — will take charge as interim prime miner.
