T20 World Cup 2024: India vs Pakan game to be held in ‘pop-up stadium’ outside New York | Cricket News

New York will host the marquee India vs Pakan clash of the 2024 T20 World Cup, the Guardian has reported. USA are co-hosting the T20 World Cup with the West Indies scheduled to be held in June.
As per the reports, the match will be played in a pop-up stadium on the outskirts of the New York. A 34,000-seated temporary stadium will be constructed for the tournament in New York.
The match is being played in the New York becasue as per the latest census data, around 7,11,000 Indian and about 1,00,000 people of Pakani origin live in the New York.
The time difference between Delhi and New York is 10-and-a-half-hours but some of the India matches will be scheduled to serve the Indian television audiences.

Only three venues will be used in the US and those are entral Broward Park in Florida, Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas and Eisenhower Park on Long Island, about 25 miles from downtown Manhattan.
Cricket is also making its way back into the Olympic fold after more than 120 years as it has been included in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

The thrust provided the league in the rise of the T20 format, followed countries across continents, is seen as one of the reasons it was considered to be a part of the Olympics, which earlier couldn’t accommodate the 50-over format.
