Tamim Iqbal rushed to hospital in Bangladesh with chest pain

Former Bangladesh captain, Tamim Iqbal was rushed to the hospital on Monday morning in Savar with chest pain. The incident happened when Tamim was playing a Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Shinepukur Cricket Club at the BKSP-3 ground in Savar, 27 KM North-West of Dhaka.
According to ESPNcricinfo, the incident happened during the first innings of the 50-over match where Tamim’s team, Mohammedan Sporting Club, was fielding first.
Initially, a helicopter was arranged for Tamim’s movement, but when he could not be flown out, he was then taken to the near Fazilatunnesa Hospital, match referee Debabrata Paul told ESPNcricinfo.

In January, Tamim announced his retirement from international cricket. In a Facebook post, Tamim wrote: “I have been away from international cricket for quite some time, and the dance will not be reduced. My chapter in international cricket is closed.”
Tamim had played 70 Tests, 243 ODIs and 78 T20Is for Bangladesh. This was the second time Tamim had announced his international retirement, having previously called time on his career in 2023 in an emotional press conference. The 35-year-old then reversed his decision within 24 hours after intervention from Bangladesh’s now-deposed prime miner, Sheikh Hasina.
