Tech error leads to United Airlines’ system-wide outage, FAA issues ground stop in US | World News

A ground stop has been issued for United Airlines the US aviation watchdog Federal Aviation Adminration (FAA) across the country, including Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport after the airline reported “technology issue” and the company said they are holding all United mainline flights at their departure airports.
The FAA has said due to a ground stop being issued at the request of United Airlines, several airports have been affected which includes Newark, San Francisco, Chicago, Denver, and Houston.

In a statement, the United Airlines said “Due to a technology issue, we are holding United mainline flights at their departure airports.”
The airline further added, “We expect additional flight delays this evening as we work through this issue. Safety is our top priority, and we’ll work with our customers to get them to their destinations.”
Passengers affected the ground stop delay started complaining on X to which the United Airlines responded “We’re aware of the system error at this time and are working on a fix to have you on your way as soon as possible. We understand that this disruption has caused frustrations during your travel and appreciate your continued patience.”
