Thamma trailer: Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna join forces to fight a 1,000-year-old ‘betaal’ | Bollywood News

The Maddock Horror Comedy film universe, consing of Bhediya, Munjya, Stree and Stree 2, is finally getting its new member. The trailer for Thamma released on Friday gives the viewers a peek into what the production house has in store for them and their plans for the future of this universe.
In Thamma, Ayushmann Khurrana is just your regular Joe who, due to some not so fortuitous events, crosses paths with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, a betaal who has been imprisoned for 1000 years because of his plans to go against humanity. Ayushmann himself turns into a betaal and must now adjust to this new lifestyle with the help of Rashmika Mandanna. However, the switch isn’t that problematic, as Ayushmann finds joy in the new powers that have been granted to him.

But, things for the couple go south when Nawazuddin seeks revenge for his incarceration deciding to go back to his original plan of killing humans.
The CGI in the trailer of Thamma matches the theme and quality of the previous films in the Maddock Horror Comedy film universe, but the movie has something that none of the others did. For the first time in the universe, there is a love story at the core of the film, and part of the conflict with Nawazuddin is also saving their (Ayushmann-Rashmika) love.
Paresh Rawal is also a part of the new film and is playing the father of Ayushmann. His entire character arc in the movie seems to be about turning his son back into a normal human being while dealing with the theatrics of his new found identity.
Directed Aditya Sarpotdar, Thamma will hit screens on October 21, 2025.
