The moratorium on the promotion of employees for two years will be over in MP

Bhopal. The ban on promotion of employees for two years has been going on in the state. About this, the Ministry of Personnel and Training (DOPT) of the Central Government has asked the Chief Secretaries of all the states to continue the arrangement for reservation in the promotion till the interim order of the Supreme Court. This order will also benefit the general class officers whose promotions were halted. RK Mehra, OIC on the petition of the state government, says that the general administration department should now make new rules and introduce reservation system in promotions.

The state government has petitioned in the Supreme Court

Reservation in promotion in the state is prohibited after rejecting 2002 rule of grant of reservation in the promotion of the High Court in the year 2016. The state government has petitioned the Supreme Court against this decision in May 2016. With this, 35,000 employees have retired without promotion in two years and are looking for more than 15 thousand promotions.

Instructions about continuation of reservation
The Supreme Court had said that the arrangement for reservation in the promotion would continue till the last order, but the decision was given to the Central Government on May 17, 2018. Subsequently, the Ministry of Personnel Affairs of the Central Government has directed the Chief Secretaries of all the States to continue the reservation in promotions.
