The poetry collection “Antaskaran” was launched at a ceremony held in Kathmandu, where Dr. DR Upadhyay was praised for his remarkable contribution to literature.

Kathmandu : A grand launch ceremony of the poetry collection “Antaskaran” by renowned Nepali litterateur, lyricist, and creative personality Dr. DR Upadhyay was held in Kathmandu amid a dignified literary atmosphere. Organized jointly by Sahityik Patrakar Sangh and Milap Monthly, the event emerged as a meaningful platform for discussions on literature, social consciousness, and human sensitivity.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of several distinguished personalities from the fields of literature, politics, history, music, and social service. Senior litterateur Radheshyam Lekali presided over the program, while Member of Parliament Rajiv Khatri attended as the chief guest. Former MP and poet Rekha Yadav, historian Surendra KC, Prof. Purushottam Dahal, epic poet Khemnath Dahal, Lyricists’ Association President Basanta Bityasi Thapa, Chudamani Devkota, Madhav Khanal, Tara Upreti, Krishna Bhusal, and Naresh Bhattarai were among the notable personalities who jointly unveiled the book.
Speakers described “Antaskaran” as a powerful reflection of contemporary Nepali society and emotions. They said the collection sensitively portrays love, struggle, hope, social realities, and the complexities of human relationships. According to them, the book is not merely a poetry collection but a profound dialogue with society and time.
Chief guest Rajiv Khatri praised Dr. DR Upadhyay for his immense contribution to Nepali literature and music. He remarked that Upadhyay’s writings represent social responsibility and deep human consciousness. Khatri also recited one of the poems from the collection, which emotionally moved the audience.
During the program, poets Suman Thapa Sangam and Shobha Adhikari recited selected poems from the collection. The poetry recitation created an emotional and reflective atmosphere in the auditorium.
Prof. Purushottam Dahal, who wrote the preface of the book, epic poet Khemnath Dahal, and author Dr. DR Upadhyay were specially honored during the ceremony. Chief guest Rajiv Khatri was also felicitated.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. DR Upadhyay described literature as “the voice of the soul.” He said “Antaskaran” reflects his experiences, struggles, and sensitive perspective towards society. He expressed confidence that literature remains one of the most effective mediums to connect humanity and inspire compassion.
Published by Milap Publication, the 299-page poetry collection contains 79 poems and has been edited by Krishna Bhusal. Literature enthusiasts present at the event expressed confidence that the book would inspire fresh literary discourse and new consciousness among Nepali readers.
Notably, Dr. DR Upadhyay has already published 17 novels, three lyric collections, around 250 songs, and more than 150 music videos. He holds 153 world records in the fields of literature and music. Around 100 distinguished guests attended the ceremony.
