This alleged tweet from Isha Ambani on Reliance Jio is fake

NEW DELHI: Reliance’s high-speed Internet service – JioFiber – was in the news recently about its anticipated launch. The news broke on the basis of an alleged confirmation from Jio’s board of director Isha Ambani’s tweet. The tweet turned out to be hoax as a fake account in name of Isha Ambani had tweeted that the company will launch the JioFiber services around Diwali in 100 cities and the company will be giving 100GB data at Rs 500.

Reliance Jio started testing JioFiber last year. In April this year, the company revealed its plans to launch Fibre To The Home (FTTH) service soon, and also ran trials in few select cities. Back in May, it confirmed that the beta trials will be conducted in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Jamnagar, Vadodara and Surat.
Recently, details of JioFiber preview offer were accidentally revealed on Jio’s website, but taken down shortly after. As per the listing, there’s a 100Mbps plan offering 100GB data per month for three months, but the users have to pay Rs 4,500 as security deposit. Once the 100GB data limit is exhausted, the speed will be reduced to 1Mbps.
In addition, the website invited registrations for some time to those interested in trying out the service in Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Mumbai, Surat, Kolkata and Vishakhapatnam.
