This drink is Ananya Panday’s solution to morning gas and bloating

Ananya Panday claims that her secret to staying healthy is a simple yet powerful Ayurvedic elixir she takes every morning. In an interview with Filmfare, Panday said she starts her day with jeera paani, a ritual she follows religiously. Intrigued, we explored what happens when you drink this combination for two weeks straight.
What makes jeera water special?
Isha Lall, holic nutrition and wellness coach, said that in Ayurveda, cumin seeds (jeera) are highly valued for their carminative properties––meaning they naturally help relieve bloating, gas, and sluggish digestion.
“When soaked in warm water, jeera releases volatile oils like thymol, which act as a gentle cleanser, stimulating digestive enzymes and preparing your gut and liver for the day ahead. Its natural oils and antioxidants support detoxification, improve nutrient absorption, and reduce bloating,” she said.

What happens when you drink this concoction for 2 weeks?
Boosts digestion: Ayurveda considers digestion as Agni (digestive fire), and jeera water helps ignite it. This is especially beneficial if you struggle with bloating, slow metabolism, or irregular bowel movements.
Supports liver detox: Jeera contains compounds that activate liver enzymes, aiding natural detoxification. Over time, this improves digestion and contributes to healthier, glowing skin—because a happy gut often means better skin!
Reduces bloating: Jeera’s carminative properties help release trapped gas and reduce water retention. Many people notice a flatter stomach and a lighter feeling within two weeks.
Provides steady energy: Unlike coffee or tea, jeera water doesn’t cause energy crashes. Instead, it gently boosts metabolism, stabilises blood sugar levels, and keeps you feeling refreshed and balanced.Story continues below this ad

Precautions to keep in mind:
While jeera water is gentle and safe, moderation is key. Avoid drinking it all day—it’s not meant to replace your water intake. If you’re pregnant or on medication, consult your doctor before starting its regular consumption. For those with sensitive stomachs, start with a mild brew (1/2 tsp jeera in a cup of water) and increase gradually.
