Having guided Pakan to a record chase in the ODI World Cup hory against Sri Lanka on Tuesday, Pakan batter Mohammad Rizwan has dedicated his knock to the victims of the Israel-Palestine war in Gaza.
“This was for our brothers and sers in Gaza. Happy to contribute in the win. Credits to the whole team and especially Abdullah Shafique and Hassan Ali for making it easier. Extremely grateful to the people of Hyderabad for the amazing hospitality and support throughout,” Rizwan wrote on his Twitter on Wednesday.
Coming in to bat with Pakan two wickets down for 37, Rizwan would notch a 176 run stand for the third wicket with Abdullah Shafique. Chasing 345, Rizwan scored 131 runs off 121 deliveries, an innings that saw him clear the boundary thrice aside from eight fours, and wrap up the chase with 10 deliveries to spare and six wickets in hand.

“Always a proud moment for me whenever you perform for your country. I am speechless at this moment. It was difficult. The thing was that after the bowling innings we went back and everyone was confident,” player of the match Rizwan conceded afterwards.
With the win on Tuesday, Pakan sit second in the points table with two wins from two outings, just below New Zealand.
Pakan next face India in the league stage at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.
