Three members of South Korean family disappear during drive to US’ Las Vegas | World News

In tragic news for a South Korean family, three members who were visiting the United States have been missing for over a week when they were on a road trip during a winter storm between the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas, CNN reported.
According to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, South Korea’s Jiyeon Lee, 33, Taehee Kim, 59, and Junghee Kim, 54 were travelling in a rental car on March 13 on Interstate 40 in last known information.
The press release from Arizona Department of Public Safety indicated that the rental car, in which the South Korean family was travelling, remained on the interstate westbound around 3:27 pm as per the GPS data.

Their timing coincided with a fatal accident on the same interstate during the winter storm when vehicles piled up.
According to Arizona’s department, “The collision involved a total of 22 vehicles, including 13 passenger vehicles. A total of 36 drivers and occupants were involved in the incident, including two fatalities, and 16 injured persons were transported for medical care.”

However, the sheriff’s office investigating the South Korean family’s disappearance said that it wasn’t known whether the rented vehicle was involved in any crash.
As per a KPNX report, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles was working with the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office to locate the three family members of South Korea, who have been missing for the past 10 days.Story continues below this ad
The sheriff’s office reportedly investigated the area, service roads and hospitals for about three days and have exhausted the leads.
