Travis Head’s Jai to Abhishek Sharma’s Veeru, and finally an Aussie admits to a paper in teammate’s pocket: the best SRH memes | Ipl News

Twitter, Insta and WhatsApp groups have been chuckling since last night over the aftermath of what was to be a filmy dream sequence for Sunrisers Hyderabad starring their leading duo Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head.
The Travishek duo is turning into quite a Jai-Veeru combination, though not exactly in a planned way. After a string of losses, SRH top order finally came good in terrific fashion as the opening pair put on 171 for the first wicket chasing Punjab Kings’ target of 246.
Sharma went absolutely beserk smashing 141 off 55 balls with 14 fours and 10 sixes while Travis Head had 66 off 37, with just 3 sixes and 9 fours. But it was finally fulfilling of potential as SRH faithful have been hoping for this carnage for long even dreaming of breaching 300 scores. So once Sharma reached his landmark, he pulled out a chit from his pocket saying, “This one is for Orange Army.” So far so cool.

In the press conference after the win, Sharma would casually say he had decided to carry the chit on a whim on Saturday sensing something special was up. The Orange Army had been delirious.
Except, Travis Head reared up, in his own unwitting fashion.
He told the IPL official handle Sharma had actually been carrying the chit for all 6 matches, waiting to pull it out whenever the century turned up. It showed confidence, and the SRH top order exploding was inevitable. But it also ended up in a hilarious situation for Sharma, and jarred his filmy driving into sunset scenario like a BTS spoof.
Travishek have been at the centre of several memes, many glorifying, some poking fun. But one of the most popular one is with their faces superimposed on Jai and Veeru from Sholay.Story continues below this ad
Remember, Amitabh’s face when Dharmendra asked, “Tumhara naam kya hai Basanti?” Or the “s*”la nautanki” refrain. Head carried the same jovial energy about his bazooka partner.
However the meme that had millions of Indians chuckling and got shared was a simple text saying, “Finally an Australian admits to his teammate carrying a piece of paper in his pocket.”
It might well have been the least offensive riffings off Sandpapergate.
