‘Tried for 15 years to stop that happening’: Aaron Finch recalls his struggle against Bhuvneshwar Kumar | Cricket News

Former Australian batter Aaron Finch’s weakness against swinging deliveries has been well-documented in the past. However, against India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar Finch’s troubles notched up a level.
Finch was dismissed seven times Kumar out of which four came in a single series in 2019 when India toured Australia. During a Q and A session on Twitter former Australian skipper was asked about the reason behind the weakness against the Indian seamer.
“Big fan here,why did bhuvi troubled you a bit.. Could you elaborate? Is it your feet coming across??” a fan asked Finch.
“Yep!! Tried for 15 years to stop that happening,” Finch replied.

Despite his flaws against Kumar and other bowlers who could swing the new ball. Finch had an illustrious career as an opener and led Australia to win the T20 World Cup in 2021.
Finch played 146 ODIs at an average of almost 39, and 103 T20 internationals at an average of 34.28 and a strike-rate of 142.53. He has twice held the record for highest score in a T20 international, posting 156 against England in 2013 and then setting the current mark of 172 against Zimbabwe at Harare in 2018.
Kumar’s career on the other hand off-late has been curtailed injuries. He has been regular in the team till 2022 T20 World Cup in the shorter version of the game but has been ignored since that.

He has been in and out of the Sunrisers Hyderabad side in the Indian Premier League.
