Trump breaks silence on Musk’s ‘drug use’ in White House, says ‘Don’t know… hope not’ | World News

During a press briefing on Monday, US President Donald Trump addressed the allegations of drug use Elon Musk, his former close ally and head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Responding to reports about Musk’s alleged use of ketamine, Trump said, “I really don’t know. I don’t think so. I hope not.”
The comments follow a New York Times report claiming Musk, 53, used ketamine, ecstasy, and psychedelic mushrooms extensively while campaigning with Trump in 2024. Sources cited in the report alleged Musk carried a daily medication box with around 20 pills, including some marked as the stimulant Adderall, and that his ketamine use led to bladder issues.
The comments the US President comes amid his fractured relations with the tech-billionaire, who unlike past nine months have now turned his “disloyal foe”, and whom Trump warned of “serious consequences” if he proceeded with plans to fund Democratic candidates opposing Republicans who support the GOP’s sweeping tax-cut bill.

However, on Monday, Trump, presented an olive branch for Musk, who donated approximately $275 million to his presidential campaign. “I just wish him well. Very well, actually,” Trump added, noting their “good relationship” despite the recent public fall out.

Musk, meanwhile, has denied the allegations of drug consumption on Saturday, stating on X, “To be clear, I am NOT taking drugs! The New York Times was lying their ass off.” He admitted to past use of prescription ketamine, saying, “I tried ‘prescription’ ketamine a few years ago and said so on X, so this not even news. It helps for getting out of dark mental holes, but I haven’t taken it since then.”
Musk has previously acknowledged using ketamine to treat a “negative frame of mind,” suggesting it benefited his work.
