US President Donald Trump has linked his aggressive push to acquire Greenland to last year’s decision on the Nobel committee to not award him the Nobel Peace Prize, as the Republican leader told Norway’s prime miner that he no longer felt “an obligation to think purely of Peace,” two European officials reportedly said on Monday.

The text message which Trump sent to Norway’s Prime Miner Jonas Gahr Store stated, “Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America,” New York Times reported.

The message Trump to Norway’s prime miner appears to soar up deadlock between Washington and its closest allies over his threats to acquire Greenland, which is a self-governing territory of NATO member Denmark.
