Ahead of his visit, a video conference will take place on Sunday of the “Coalition of the Willing,” co-chaired French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and UK Prime Miner Keir Starmer, according to the French presidency. Earlier, Zelenskyy said he had a “long, meaningful” call with Trump on Saturday following the Alaska talks, which yielded no breakthrough. Trump also spoke with NATO and European leaders.
No deal on Ukraine war: Trump and Putin’s three-hour summit in Alaska concluded without agreement on ending the war. Both leaders described the talks as “productive.” Putin said they reached an “understanding” on Ukraine, while Trump rated the meeting “a 10,” adding that the onus was on Zelenskyy to pursue a ceasefire with Moscow.
Putin honours Soviet pilots buried in Alaska: After the summit, Putin laid flowers at the graves of Soviet pilots buried in Alaska. He visited Fort Richardson National Cemetery near Anchorage, where a section is dedicated to airmen who died in training accidents or harsh weather while ferrying US-built aircraft to the Soviet Union during World War II under the Lend-Lease program, Reuters reported.
