US President Donald Trump on Tuesday used his speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to warn Europe about the influx of immigrants into their countries, which, according to him, was “ruining their heritage”.
Trump said Europe was in serious trouble due to immigration, and the UN was “funding an assault on Western countries and their borders” providing funds for certain migrants.

“Europe is in serious trouble. They’ve been invaded a force of illegal aliens like nobody’s ever seen before. Illegal aliens are pouring into Europe. … Nobody’s doing anything to change it, to get them out. It’s not sustainable, and because they choose to be politically correct, they’re doing just absolutely nothing about it,” Trump said.
European migrant crisis
Europe witnessed an unprecedented surge in migration, both legal and illegal, starting in 2015, when millions of refugees and asylum seekers from war-torn Syria, Iraq and Afghanan flocked to Western countries. The unprecedented rush of immigrants strained the resources of many European countries and also gave rise to right-wing national and anti-immigrant political parties in the region.
Trump called energy and migration a “double-tailed monster” that’s ruining Europe.
“If you don’t stop people that you’ve never seen before, that you have nothing in common with, your country is going to fail. I’m the president of the United States, but I worry about Europe. I love Europe, I love the people of Europe. And I hate to see it being devastated energy and immigration, that double-tailed monster that destroys everything in its wake,” Trump said.
The US President then directly addressed European leaders, saying: “You’re doing it because you want to be nice. You want to be politically correct, and you’re destroying your heritage.”
Trump, who made the crackdown on illegal immigration one of the key pillars of his presidential campaign, also touted his success.
“In America, we’ve taken bold action to swiftly shut down uncontrolled migration,” he said. “Once we started detaining and deporting everyone who crossed the border and removing illegal aliens from the United States, they simply stopped coming. They’re not coming anymore. We’re getting a lot of credit, but they’re not coming anymore.”
