Two new cricket grounds in Thane and New Mumbai planned Mumbai Cricket Association

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) plans to build two new grounds in Thane and New Mumbai respectively in the coming days.
The MCA president Amol Kale has said he will be approaching the Maharashtra state government for the procurement of the required land. MCA wants to build a stadium in Thane and one club-cum-ground in New Mumbai.
“We are looking to have two new infrastructures in New Mumbai and Thane. We have begun the process and will be approaching the Maharashtra government to allot us the land so that we can have two more grounds in coming years.” Kale told The Indian Express.

Kale explained that the new development will help players from Thane and New Mumbai. Many players travel in crowded trains to South Mumbai for cricket practice, matches or various age groups camps.
Meanwhile, the MCA Apex Council appointed bureaucrat Satish Soni as COO (Chief Operating Officer)-project.
“The MCA has appointed Satish Soni as its new COO-Project. He will be looking after all current and pending projects of the association. His role will be to resolve all the issues and find a solution for it,” Kale added.
In another decision taken the Apex Council, the kits and equipment subsidy fund for affiliated ordinary maidan’s clubs was recommended to be increased to 20 crores.
The MCA has kept July 20 as the last date for players transfer for their monsoon Kanga League.
