Two sets down, Novak Djokovic qualifies for 13th Australian Open semi-final after injured Musetti retires

Novak Djokovic found an unlikely way out from the jaws of a surprise Australian Open defeat after his fifth-seeded opponent Lorenzo Musetti retired due to injury, presenting a walk-over victory to the 24-time Grand Slam champion after being two sets ahead at the Rod Laver Arena on Wednesday.
“I don’t know what to say except for I feel sorry for him. He was the far better player, I was on my way home tonight. Don’t know what to say, these kind of things happen in sport. It happened to me a few times.
You know, being in quarters of a grand slam up 2 sets to love up and being in full control. I mean, so unfortunate. I don’t know what else to say. I wish him a speedy recovery and he should’ve been the winner today no doubt,” said Djokovic in the post-match chat. Expand © IE Online Media Services Pvt Ltd
