UIDAI gets 24×7 commando protection
The security of the all-important and sensitive UIDAI data centre at Bengaluru has been handed over to Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Friday with 80 commandos of the CISF looking into the security to protect it against possible terror strikes or threats.
The government has regularised CISF deployment even though it has been guarding the facility since December 2014.
With sensitive, confidential biometric and personal information of the citizens of India maintained at the centre, the security of the facility is being given the utmost importance.
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) facility which is the repository of Aadhaar data, located in the Kodigehalli area of Bengaluru, will have the squad taking over the task of guarding the facility round-the-clock, along with a special vehicle-borne quick reaction team of commandos stationed at vantage points in case of an attack. The overall entry and exit at the facility will also be taken over by the team.
