UK PM Keir Starmer set to admit globalisation has failed amid Trump’s trade war | World News

The UK Prime Miner Keir Starmer is all set to declare an end to globalisation and acknowledge that the concept of globalisation has failed millions of voters amid US President Donald Trump’s reciprocal tariff announcement, The Times reported.
Since US President Trump announced sweeping reciprocal tariffs on its global trade partners on goods importing to America, UK PM Starmer would address the country for the first time on Monday and is reportedly bound to say that seismic economic effects prove the government must “move further and faster” to improve the supply reforms.
Later in the week, UK PM Starmer and Chancellor Rachel Reeves are set to announce pro-growth data, which could include relaxing the regulations for electric vehicle manufacturers and briefing government’s strategy on industrial strategy.

PM Starmer would reportedly argue on Monday that tariffs imposed the US president are a wrong response, but would add that he understands Trump’s economic nationalism and why the US voters have voted him to power as they have allegedly not seen any benefits from free trade and migration, The Times reported.

According to an official quoted The Times from Downing Street, “Trump has done something that we don’t agree with but there’s a reason why people are behind him on this. The world has changed, globalization is over and we are now in a new era.”
“We’ve got to demonstrate that our approach, a more active Labour government, a more reform government, can provide the answers for people in every part of this country,” the official further added.
The Trump adminration has imposed a 10% tariff on the UK’s exports to the US.
