‘Ukraine ready to work with US’: Zelenskyy praises Trump for ‘clear stance’ in shortened deadline for Russia | World News
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday welcomed US President Donald Trump’s public support for efforts to shorten the timeline to end Russia’s war in Ukraine.
Writing on social media platform X, Zelenskyy said Trump had shown “expressed determination” at a crucial time.
“Clear stance and expressed determination Trump– right on time, when a lot can change through strength for real peace,” Zelenskyy said. “I thank President Trump for his focus on saving lives and stopping this horrible war,” he added.

In his nightly video message, Zelenskyy said Trump’s latest statement was “particularly significant” because it came while Russia continues to launch attacks on Ukrainian cities.

“Russia’s constant attempts to inflict pain on Ukraine make such support important,” he said.
Zelenskyy also said that strong sanctions against Russia remained essential in any peace efforts.
“Russia pays attention to sanctions, pays attention to such losses,” he said. “Ukraine is ready to work productively with the United States, to work with President Trump to end this war with dignity and a secure, lasting peace.”
