Trump hints at operation in Colombia: Donald Trump escalated his war of words with Colombian President Gustavo Petro, accusing him of enabling cocaine production and warning his leadership “won’t last very long.” When asked whether that implied a US operation in Colombia, Trump replied: “It sounds good to me,” according to an audio recording from Air Force One. Petro, who condemned the US action in Venezuela as an “assault on Latin American sovereignty,” said his government is seizing cocaine at record levels and urged Trump to witness the crackdown firsthand.
