Vaccination of teenagers gains momentum in Madhya Pradesh

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has congratulated while expressing happiness for completing more than 33 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccination in Madhya Pradesh for the age group of 15-18 years today. Madhya Pradesh has achieved more than two-third of the total target in this category.

Chouhan said that while Madhya Pradesh has been a leader in the vaccination of persons above 18 years of age, in the same way, now the work of protecting adolescents from corona is going well. The Chief Minister said that we have completed an important step in protecting the entire people of Madhya Pradesh from corona. Due to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, free vaccine has been made available to the countrymen on Wednesday.

Mega campaigns have also been conducted from time to time for vaccination in Madhya Pradesh. Wide public participation has been seen in these mega campaigns. This is the reason that till the evening of January 19, 33 lakh 60 thousand vaccine doses have been completed in the state in the age group of 15 to 18 years. Chouhan said that administrative officers and staff members of all the districts including public representatives, religious leaders, all frontline workers, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers and officers and employees of health department deserve congratulations for this success.

The vaccination work in the country has completed one year. An encouraging environment was created in Madhya Pradesh from 16 January 2020 on the first day of vaccination. Health workers went to the fields and barns and did the vaccination. Adolescents are also benefitting from the vaccination. Madhya Pradesh has made 20 percent more achievement than the national average of 50 percent in the work of vaccination of adolescents started from January 3. Madhya Pradesh has achieved the target of 70 percent vaccination of eligible teenagers of this category.

Madhya Pradesh is ahead of other states in the vaccination of pregnant women. Vaccine doses have been administered to about 7 lakh pregnant women of the state.”       Ministers should review the schemes regularly.

“Work should be done at the department level on the issues of Varanasi Conclave. Issues related to the department should be included in the priorities.

“If necessary, re-packaging of flagship schemes should be done. Keep trying for improvement and better implementation.

Chouhan urged all political parties, religious leaders, social organizations and members of Crisis Management Group at every level to cooperate in the vaccination work.

The Chief Minister said that while Prime Minister Modi took the lead for Corona control, our health workers, ASHA and Anganwadi workers worked tirelessly by crossing fields, barns, hills, river ponds and vaccinating and saving the lives of citizens. All of them deserve praise.

Our country cannot forget their services. Along with this, members of Crisis Management Group, religious leaders, members of political parties have ensured public participation in 11 campaigns conducted in Madhya Pradesh. Vaccination ensures that the infection does not become fatal. Only 3 or 4 percent of the total positive cases are being admitted to the hospital.

CM Shri Chouhan’s appeal to citizens

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan appealed to the citizens to cooperate in getting the vaccine to those who are left out. Identify eligible people who have not been vaccinated at ward, panchayat level in door to door campaigns. This is a powerful means of protection. Adopt Covid appropriate behavior. The number of infected may increase in the third wave, so do not skip precautions such as use of face masks, avoiding crowds, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently. It is also the duty of every citizen. Do follow the precautions that have been mentioned for home isolation as well. Covid care centers have started in the state. Oxygen plants are also functional. Despite these arrangements, attention has to be paid to all measures to prevent infection.
