Vinod Khanna prayer meet: Bollywood gathers to pay respect
On Wednesday, Bollywood came together to pay last respect to veteran actor/ politician Vinod Khanna. The prayer meet was attended by some of the biggest B-town biggest stars like Amitabh Bachchan along with son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and wife Kiran Rao, Hrithik Roshan, Rakesh Roshan and among others. Amitabh and Abhishek were the first stars to arrive at the funeral of Vinod Khanna. Vinod Khanna passed away on April 27 and left the film fraternity and fans in shock. He died after a long battle with advanced bladder carcinoma.
Shah Rukh Khan, who shared screen space with Khan in Dilwale, arrived to pay his last respects to his family. Shah Rukh greeted veteran actress Farida Jalal at the venue. Among the other Bollywood celebrities who attended the prayer meet were Sridevi and her husband Boney Kapoor. Sridevi and Vinod Khanna were co-stars in 1989’s ‘Chandani’. Athiya Shetty, Sonakshi Sinha and Farhan Akhtar were also there. Vinod Khanna’s eldest children, sons Rahul and Akshaye, were also photographed.
Vinod Khanna had also ventured in politics and was the Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur, Punjab when he died. Vinod Khanna is known to be the star of several films of the seventies and eighties. His best known films include Achanak, Mere Apne and of course Amar Akbar Anthony.
